The largest joint in our body is the knee joint and one of the most easily injured joints. It is made up of bone, cartilage, tendons, and ligaments.
Bones: they are 3 bones which meet at knee joint, femur (thigh bone), shine bone (tibia), and the knee cap (patella)
Cartilage: the ends of thigh bones and tibia and the back of the patella are covered with articular cartilage and it consists of a slippery substance that helps your knee to glide smoothly while bending and straighten your leg.
Meniscus: shock absorbers or the wedge-shaped meniscal cartilage which is present between the femur and tibia. The meniscus is rubbery and tough win texture which acts as a cushion and stabilizes the joint. When you speak about cartilage in the knee it is usually referring to torn meniscus.
Ligaments: All bones are connected by ligament they are about 4 main ligaments in your knee which act like strong ropes to hold the bones and keep your joint stable.
